Launching of Pensions 8 Group

Under the auspices of the BEP, the CPSL launched the Pensions 8 Group as a regular convention of the world¡¯s 8 most prominent public pensions in 2007 in order to provide the platform from the global investment community to address climate change and its negative impacts.

P8 members

  • North America : California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS),New York State Common Retirement Funds
  • Europe : USS (UK), AP 7 (Sweden), ABP (Netherlands)
  • Asia-Pacific : Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) China Investment Corporation(CIC)

Previous P8 meetings

The P8 Group held four meetings in London and Washington D.C. in 2007-09 and discussed the role of major pension funds in connection with global warming and climate change.

Expansion into Pensions 80

The Seoul summit is the fifth edition of the P80 Group, to be held in Asia for the first time and in an expanded format to share the group¡¯s founding spirit with core pension funds based in Asia. In this regard, the summit is named the Pensions 80 with the hope of expanding the regime to embrace more members from other parts of the world in the future.
